A field guide to video game glitches
Collected, tested, and kept in one place. Every specimen answers the question that actually matters: does it still work?

Fighting/Glitch Pokemon with 182 base Attack (beats Kartana's 181) and base Speed 2. Fully usable in battle.
Cannot learn Body Slam. No level-up moves. Set: Thunder Wave / Softboiled / Double-Edge / Horn Drill.
169 base Speed, third fastest Pokemon ever created. Base Attack of 0.
Cannot learn Thunderbolt or Substitute. Set: Psychic / Ice Beam (or Blizzard) / Fire Blast / Thunder. Recover at L78.
BST 699 with no stat below 130. Battles work fine; opening its stat screen crashes the game.
Swords Dance + 152 Attack is the play. Never open the summary screen.
BST 715, above Gen 1 Mewtwo's 590. Completely stable, the wiki notes its sprite never freezes.
Lovely Kiss from glitch learnset. Displays Normal/Ghost but typing is fake, no real resistances. Set: Lovely Kiss / Earthquake / Thunderbolt / Body Slam.
94's twin: identical 715 BST, but its level-up learnset reads from VRAM, so learnable moves change with what is on screen.
Same TM list as 94. The screen-dependent learnset is unique in the game.
Bug/Glitch with 254 base Special, 100 points above Mewtwo. Stability test in progress.
Garden is stability-testing. Pass = ranked entry; fail = Nukes.
The famous one. Bird/Normal, 136 Attack, 0 Defense, 39 forms including two fossils and a ghost. Duplicates bag slot six by 128 and scrambles your Hall of Fame.
Does not freeze the game. Sprite scramble clears by viewing a clean Pokemon's stat screen. Stats are documented values, they live outside the normal base stats table.
MissingNo.'s identical twin with different rules: one point more Attack (137), evolves into Kangaskhan or Clefairy, and a Level 0 'M freezes the game when withdrawn from the PC.
Old man glitch encounter; level 0 or 80 depends on trainer name. Feed a Level 0 one a Rare Candy before boxing it. Becomes 3TrainerPoke $ in Yellow.
Highest BST of any glitch Pokemon at 788. Freezes the game when sent out on the opponent's side.
Nukes tier.
Same 788 BST family as 0xC7, same freeze behavior.

Historic entry, the Glitchhouse's founding specimen. Original video on the channel (16K views).

Escape with items only, never open the party, heal at a Center. Names of exactly 2 or 5 characters can survive with save intact. Emulator with backups only.
